There are plenty of museums and craft studios to visit here. Biot has real cultural riches just waiting to be discovered. This “village” owes its fame to the glass blowers. Through its glassworks and their famous bubbled glass it has set the benchmark all over the world for arts in general and for craftsmanship. Since Biot’s soil is rich in clay and sand, the town’s pottery has also gained a national and international reputation. The pottery, ceramic and jewellery workshops are open to the public, as are the glass artists’ and painters’ studios. An incredibly informative art and craft getaway, and a real treasure trove! Biot is a fortified town with houses built into the ramparts and medieval gateways. As you stroll through its narrow streets you’ll see arches, sundials and curved staircases. Biot is the perfect place for living the good life. The flavours and colours of the Mediterranean can be sampled at its many restaurants. Relaxation and conviviality are the watchwords.

Nature lovers are spoiled for choice at Biot. The Brague Departmental Park covers an area of 480 hectares. There are five hiking trails to explore here, taking you all around the town. Along the trails you will find a great many historical remains, such as old mills. This listed, protected natural park is crossed by the Brague River. The water flows harmoniously across some very diverse Mediterranean landscapes. In the shade of the foliage, you can take a moment out to experience true serenity. Lulled by birdsong and the river meandering through the trees, you’ll feel close to nature. It’s a romantic, pastoral spot, perfect for lovers or for a family stroll in the fresh air. For the people of Biot, this little corner of nature is a popular place to come and unwind after work, and it’s easy to understand why. You might come across wild boars and pheasants, or ducks, magpies and cuckoos. Here, water chatters and birds sing. Make sure you bring a good pair of shoes!

Just a few kilometres away, in the seaside resort of Juan-les-Pins, your room at the Astoria hotel is ready for you. When you fall asleep here, the birds will carry on singing sweetly in your dreams…
