All you need to do is add the Croix des Gardes nature reserve to your list of places to visit.
Situated only 1 km from the famous Croisette, this green open space offers unique views over the Bay of Cannes and the Esterel Massif. Under the protection of the “Conservatoire du Littoral”, this area of 80 hectares has a special place in the hearts of the residents of Cannes. The objective is simple: to preserve the environment and promote the natural and cultural heritage of these hills. As well as being a place to come for a breath of fresh air, La Croix des Gardes is also a special nature reserve for the flora and fauna of Provence. On your rambles, don’t be surprised if you spot hawks, buzzards and wild rabbits. And all around you is mimosa, the pride of the city. This is in fact the birthplace of the first mimosas in France. Four signposted walks and a fitness trail have been marked out, and along the way you’ll find information boards telling you all about the existing natural heritage. In short, your walk will be a fun, feelgood experience. All with the extra bonus of a 360° panorama.
